An informed source revealed that the United Arab Emirates has submitted a proposal to the United States of America to form a broad military coalition to secure international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, in light of the ongoing attacks launched by the Houthi group for nearly a year.

The Houthis are clearly inferior in combat capabilities. Yet naval forces operating in the region have failed to stop their attacks. This is true even though the United States has struck the Houthis on multiple occasions with a combination of air power and naval missile strikes.

One of his first foreign policy actions was to suspend offensive arms sales to Saudi Arabia in February 2021 in response to diplomatic backlash following the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
