Yemen.. World Food Program announces need for $1.5 billion to meet humanitarian needs in 2025

The World Food Programme ( WFP ) announced an estimated budget to finance its humanitarian activities in Yemen during the coming year 2025 AD.

The program said, in a report issued on Friday, regarding its global expectations for the year 2025, that it needs funding of $1.5 billion to respond to the ongoing humanitarian needs in Yemen during the coming year.

The report added that this funding will be allocated to provide humanitarian assistance to about 17.1 million people suffering from severe food insecurity.

He pointed out that the severe food insecurity in the region, including Yemen, is due to ongoing conflicts, political unrest, economic recession and climate crises.

For more than 10 years, Yemen has been witnessing an ongoing conflict that has caused the worst humanitarian disaster in the world, with more than two-thirds of the population now in need of humanitarian aid to survive, according to UN reports.
