The tribes of Abyan Governorate have escalated their positions towards the Southern Transitional Council against the backdrop of the case of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who has been kidnapped and forcibly disappeared in the interim capital, Aden, in southern Yemen, since the beginning of last June. They pledged to stand firmly against what they described as "conspiracies being hatched against the governorate under the name of terrorism."

The Abyan tribes said in a statement issued today, Wednesday, a copy of which was received by "Yemeni Youth Net", that they "held an expanded meeting to stand against the conspiracies, intrigues and political accusations that the governorate is going through under the name of terrorism and collusion with the Houthis, the purpose of which is to demonize the governorate and militarize it with elements from outside it."

The statement added that the tribes of Abyan have gathered to say their word to those who want to undermine this valiant, generous and revolutionary province in all stages of the armed struggle against the British colonizer and the Zoroastrian Houthis, and they pledge before God among themselves to unify the word and ranks and to reject the differences of the past in all their forms, whether the differences are political or tribal.

The tribes also pledged to "stand firmly against all conspiracies being hatched against Abyan Governorate under the name of terrorism or collusion with the Houthis, because they are the ones who paid the price in confronting these scourges when some said that the war does not concern them."

In their statement, the Abyan tribes confirmed their condemnation and denunciation of all terrorist acts that claim the lives of innocent soldiers and that aim to destabilize security, stability and development in the governorate, pledging to confront anyone who tampers with the security and stability of the governorate, regardless of their identity or party affiliation.

Last Friday, 16 soldiers from the Transitional Council forces were killed and dozens were injured in a car bomb attack targeting a military barracks in Mudiyah District. Later, Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attack, which was the first of its kind in terms of the means used.

On the other hand, the Abyan tribes confirmed in their statement their support for the kidnapped and forcibly disappeared people of the south until their fate is revealed, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal, expressing their rejection of procrastination in the case of the kidnapped and forcibly disappeared.

The statement said that the accused in the case of the kidnapped and disappeared are "members of the Supreme Security Committee of the Transitional Council headed by Ahmed Hassan Al-Marhabi, as well as leaders in the so-called Counter-Terrorism headed by Shalal Ali Shaye."

The Abyan tribes demanded that the Presidential and Transitional Council reveal the fate of Ashal and arrest the accused and those behind them, regardless of their position or position in power, calling on the Transitional Council to correct its security system and work to uncover and arrest the perpetrators, far from accusing anyone who demands the application of the law of treason.

The tribes decided to hold a million-man march in the capital, Zinjibar (the capital of Abyan Governorate), and its date will be determined by the preparatory committee, calling on "the masses of the people to rally around just causes in order to restore the law that was stolen by some security agencies to pass their plans at the expense of the people of the south for personal and political purposes."

In their statement, the Abyan tribes condemned what they described as "the use of security services to settle political and regional scores away from political and societal justice," demanding at the same time the withdrawal of "all military units from outside Abyan, as the people of the governorate are the first and most deserving to defend their governorate by opening camps for them."

It also condemned the systematic, unjustified media campaigns supported by some high-ranking authorities to distort the national and effective role of Abyan Governorate.

The Abyan tribes concluded their statement by declaring their support and solidarity with the Laqmush tribes (in Shabwa Governorate) in their demand to reveal their missing sons and hold the perpetrators accountable, calling on all liberated governorates to support Abyan Governorate in all its just demands.
