Yemen Youth Channel learned from special sources on Saturday that the UAE summoned the Director of Aden Security, Major General Mutahhar Al-Shaibi, against the backdrop of the case of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who was forcibly disappeared after being kidnapped by a force affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council in Aden early last June.

The sources, who spoke to the channel on condition of anonymity, said that "Major General Al-Shaibi left the temporary capital Aden yesterday, Friday, heading to Abu Dhabi, after being summoned by the State Security Service in the United Arab Emirates in the context of the Ashal case and the escape of those accused of kidnapping him."

She explained that the summoning of Major General Al-Shaibi to the Emirates came after he announced the involvement of the head of the Counter-Terrorism Service in Aden, "Yusran Al-Maqtari", in the crime of kidnapping and concealing Ashal.

On August 1, the Aden Police Director revealed, during a press briefing, the results of the investigations into the kidnapping of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Abdullah Ashal Al-Jaadani, confirming that the commander of the Transitional Council’s counter-terrorism force in Aden, Yasser Al-Maqtari, was behind the crime.

Major General Al-Shaibi confirmed that an order was issued for the forced arrest of 7 fugitive defendants, and a memorandum was sent to the Minister of Interior to direct a request to arrest the wanted persons through the Department of External Relations and International Cooperation at Interpol regarding addressing the relevant authorities in the countries where the fugitive defendants are located and handing them over to the national authorities.

The Aden Police Director said, "Al-Maqtari and his deputy, Samer Al-Jundab, left the country on June 16, 2024," one day after he intervened and released on bail one of the accused in the kidnapping of Ashal, named "Sameh Al-Nurji," who is a member of the Counter-Terrorism Service in Aden.

It is likely that the leader of the UAE-backed Transitional Council forces, "Yusran Al-Maqtari," has fled to Abu Dhabi, which previous reports confirm is responsible for the file of assassinations, kidnappings, and secret prisons in Aden and other governorates in southern Yemen.

The Abyan tribes had escalated their protests to demand the disclosure of Ashal's fate, the arrest of those involved in his kidnapping, and bringing them and those behind them to justice, amidst escalating popular demands to open the file of assassinations and kidnappings that Aden has witnessed since 2015.
