Taiz: Yemen Youth Net
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, affirmed on Wednesday the Council and the government’s commitment to working with the international community to protect the humanitarian community and release doctors detained in terrorist militia prisons, in recognition of their noble services to improve the livelihood and health of the Yemeni people, and their options available to them to survive.
This came in a speech he delivered via video conference during the opening of the first scientific conference on cardiovascular diseases and kidney transplantation, organized by the Heart, Vascular and Kidney Transplantation Center in partnership with Taiz University, with the participation of more than one thousand five hundred local and foreign participants.
Al-Alimi pointed out that it is fortunate that this conference is being held a few days after the presidential visit to Taiz Governorate, which sanctifies science and knowledge, expressing his hope that this conference will be “the beginning of diagnosing the illness that our country suffers from, and Taiz in particular, which has the greatest mark in producing qualified human resources that are in dire need of medical care.”
The President said that health and knowledge are the decisive medicine for healing this country and strengthening its immunity to resist all diseases, including racism, ignorance, superstition, and tyranny, expressing his optimism that this conference will be a unique beginning to the month of the Yemeni revolution, which has placed at the heart of its goals the raising of the people’s economic, social, political, and cultural level, as an entry point to bring about the desired change at various levels.
He pointed out the size of the achievement that was recently inaugurated during his visit to Taiz Governorate with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Center, which includes the colleges of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and the oncology center as a first phase, to later include a teaching hospital and a college of dentistry as the largest medical city in the country to serve citizens from various governorates.
He also praised the role of the young doctors who established the nucleus of the Heart and Kidney Transplant Center, and created a miracle from the midst of suffering by performing hundreds of open heart surgeries and more than 70 kidney transplants.
