Eight people were killed and injured on Friday in a dispute between two families from the same tribe over a plot of land west of Shabwa Governorate, southeast of Yemen.
Local sources said that 5 people were killed and 3 others were injured in armed clashes between the Al-Muhaqin and Al-Qurai families in the Al-Qubail area in the Upper Markha district of Shabwa Governorate.
She explained that the dispute between the two families belonging to the Bani Yub tribe revolved around an old dispute over a small piece of land, which developed into an armed confrontation between the two parties, resulting in casualties on both sides.
Among the dead was citizen Mohammed Mubarak Mansour Al-Muhaqini, who was killed along with two of his sons, and a third was injured. On the other side, Mubarak bin Hussein Al-Muhaqini and Nayef Al-Qaisi Al-Muhaqini were killed, and two others were injured, according to the sources.
Shabwa is witnessing a security breakdown and an escalation of tribal revenge incidents, in light of the absence of the role of the security, military and judicial agencies in the governorate, which is controlled by the forces of the separatist Transitional Council supported by the UAE.
