"Masam" announces the removal of 630 Houthi mines and ammunition during the past week

The Masam Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen announced that its field teams were able to remove 630 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the past week from several Yemeni governorates.

The Masam Project Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 630 mines and unexploded ordnance during the past week (October 5-11), including 598 unexploded ordnance, 28 anti-tank mines, 3 anti-personnel mines, and one explosive device, bringing the total number of items removed in the period from October 1 to October 11 to 2,209.

The statement said that the project teams cleared 272,789 square meters of Yemeni land last week, bringing the total cleared so far this month to 513,364 square meters, and 60,781,715 square meters since the start of the project.

He pointed out that since the launch of the project at the end of June 2018 until October 11, the MASAM project teams have identified and destroyed 465,882 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices in the liberated areas of Yemen.
