Shabwa.. Renewed clashes between two Awaliq tribes in As Saeed District

Armed clashes resumed on Saturday evening between two tribes of Awaleq over tribal revenge in the As Saeed District of Shabwa Governorate, southeast of Yemen.

A local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the clashes between the "Al-Bubaker Bin Fareed" and "Al-Ahmed" tribes were renewed this evening in the center of the Al-Saeed Directorate, after they had stopped last night.

Armed clashes erupted after the death of one of the companions of the Director of Al-Saeed Directorate, Sheikh Abu Bakr bin Fareed Al-Awlaqi, who succumbed to his injuries in an armed ambush that targeted their car last Wednesday, according to the source.

He added that the Al-Fareed tribe accuses the Al-Ahmed tribe of being behind the ambush, noting that there is an old tribal feud between the two parties.

The source explained that the clashes had erupted between the two tribes about a month ago, and resumed yesterday, Friday, and are still continuing intermittently until Saturday evening, without any intervention by the security services.

Tribal gunmen opened fire on Sheikh Abu Bakr al-Awlaki's car in the Masaha area, while he was on his way from Ataq to Upper Egypt, which resulted in the injury of two of his companions, who were transferred to a hospital in the governorate center to receive treatment, but one of them passed away on Friday night.
