The Sudanese army announced, on Saturday, that it had regained control of the city of "Singa", the capital of Sennar State (southeast), from the Rapid Support Forces.
The army said in a brief statement that it "regained the city of Singa from the hands of the Rapid Support Forces."
The army broadcast recorded videos on its official Facebook page, showing a number of its forces inside the command of the army's "17th Infantry Division" in the city.
The videos also showed citizens in Singa celebrating the army's regaining control of the city.

On June 24, the Rapid Support Forces attacked Sennar State and took control of a number of its cities, including the capital, Singa, which they entered on the 29th of the same month.
Recently, the Sudanese army was able to take control of the strategic "Moya" Mountain in Sennar, and retake the cities of Al-Suki and Al-Dinder in the state from the Rapid Support Forces.
Since mid-April 2023, the army and the Rapid Support Forces have been waging a war that has left more than 20,000 dead and more than 13 million displaced and refugees, according to estimates by the United Nations and local authorities.
There are growing international and UN calls to end the war in order to spare Sudan a humanitarian catastrophe that has begun to push millions to famine and death due to food shortages caused by the fighting that has spread to 13 of the 18 states.
